West Virginia Public Defender Services recently presented WVIP with the John A. “Jack” Rogers Award for Outstanding Leadership in Public Service for its work on behalf of the state’s wrongfully convicted. WVIP is a law clinic at the College of Law.
The CPASS Visiting Committee has established the Dana Brooks CPASS Scholarship in honor of Dean Dana Brooks’ upcoming retirement June 30. This new award will benefit future students in the college and honor the Dean’s legacy.
A $767,000 donation from the Asphalt Pavement Association of West Virginia will fund the creation of a new endowed faculty chair within the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources. The gift will be paired with donations made earlier by the group that funded a faculty professorship.

Inspired by color, West Virginia University interior design alumna Kasey Helmick designed a center for individuals with cognitive disabilities which would help them lead more fulfilling lives. Her project, “True Colors,” was recognized as a regional winner and finalist for the national conference in the Interior Design Educators Council Student Design Competition.
