Jason Hubbart, a professor of hydrology and water quality at the WVU Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design, was asked by Barbuda officials in 2018 to come help assess the island’s freshwater resources. Apparently, throughout the island’s history, the quality of water has never been professionally tested.

Greg Thompson, associate professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, has been named a fellow of the National Academy of Inventors, which is the highest professional distinction accorded solely to academic inventors.

The Global Engagement Office at WVU Health Sciences is pleased to announce winners of their annual faculty research grant award. Named in memory of Nancy Sanders, an essential figure of the Global Health Program at WVU who passed away suddenly in 2017, these awards aim to support faculty in creating long-term, self-sustaining global activities.
Health Sciences will celebrate Valerie Lemasters’ 49-plus years of service at a retirement open house Dec. 9 from 2-4 p.m. The celebration will be held in the lobby of the Office of Research and Graduate Education, located on the ground floor of the Erma Byrd Biomedical Research Center.
