The WVU Tech community participated in a number of service activities during Service Week , April 16-21. The event celebrated National Volunteer Week, putting students, faculty and staff in touch with five organizations that serve the region’s people, pets and environment.

 

The WVU Medicine Allied Health Solutions Specialty Pharmacy has earned a URAC Specialty Pharmacy accreditation. This accreditation helps the pharmacy obtain access to limited-distribution medications for serious health conditions requiring complex medication therapies, including multiple sclerosis, cystic fibrosis, cancer, and hepatitis C.

Dr. MacKenzie Boyles-Horan and Dr. Tyler Crowe, both of West Virginia, along with Dr. Amer Shammaa, a native of Damascus, Syria, spent 34 months under the direction of Dr. Peter Ngan, department chair, and his faculty to prepare for the American Board of Orthodontics certification exams.

Parents and 9th graders from the community are invited to participate in the research project, the Emotion Regulation in Parents and Adolescents Study. This project explores how teens and their parents define and pursue happiness, how their attitudes relate to other parts of their lives, and how parents’ attitudes and behaviors relate to their children’s.
