An institution at the University for more than 100 years, the Mountaineer Marching Band will one day have a home of its own. WVU and dedicated alumni are working together to pursue a practice facility for the 330-member West Virginia University Mountaineer Marching Band.

A group of students and faculty members from the CPASS physical education and kinesiology program attended the annual West Virginia Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Conference, Oct. 18.
The Potomac State College/Community Jazz Ensemble will present a big band jazz concert on Thursday (Nov. 14) at 7:30 p.m. in the Church-McKee Arts Center on the campus of Potomac State College. The band will perform a variety of big band jazz styles and will feature many of the band’s outstanding soloists.

The United States military runs on caffeine. Whether on base or on the battlefield, the men and women serving our country often rely on coffee, soda and energy drinks to keep them on their toes. Unfortunately, those drinks usually come packed with lots of sugars and artificial flavorings. So, Barbara Hartman, chief of Nutrition and Food Service at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center in West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle, wanted to find a way to help veterans change their habits.
Two West Virginia University engineering students had the opportunity to collaborate with students from around the world in an effort to develop creative solutions to solve the most pressing challenges that our society will face in the future. The challenges were identified by an international group of leading technological thinkers and determined the topics of conversation at the 2019 Global Grand Challenges Summit in London, England.
