Chemistry is more than just lab coats, beakers and solutions; study of the field can lead to a myriad of career choices and opportunities. The WVU C. Eugene Bennett Department of Chemistry will explore those opportunities April 10 from 7 - 8:30 p.m. when it hosts the 25th Annual C. Eugene and Edna P. Bennett Careers for Chemists Program.

This year’s Eberly College Outstanding Teacher Award Recipients are Manal AlNatour , Geoff Georgi, Dana Huebert Lima and Joshua Osbourn. This year’s Outstanding Researcher Award recipients are Steven Kinsey, Tudor Stanescu and Michele McArdle Stephens. This year’s Outstanding Service Award recipients are Renée Nicholson and Kathryn Williamson.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at WVU will offer Fall Risk Assessment and Prevention, with Dr. Clifford Benezra, April 10, from 10 - 11:50 a.m. in classroom A at the Mountaineer Mall, 5000 Green Bag Road, Morgantown. The presentation is free and open to the public.

WVU Medicine Children’s will hold its 21st annual Kids Fair Saturday (April 6) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Morgantown Mall. The event will focus on helping kids get on track now to make healthy choices for a lifetime of good health.

Statistically, someone in the United States dies of a drug overdose every seven minutes. Join the Office of Interprofessional Education for a dynamic, interactive presentation and multi-panel event on Monday, April 8 at 4 p.m. in Okey Patteson Auditorium at the WVU Health Sciences Center. Ryan Feldman from the Netflix documentary, Recovery Boys, will also be a panel participant.
