Tuition for Potomac State College for the upcoming academic year was cut $418 Tuesday as the West Virginia University Board of Governors adjusted the cost to open the way for students to be eligible for free community college benefits adopted by the state Legislature.

An advancement executive with 25 years of experience in healthcare and higher education has been chosen as the new associate vice president of medical and health sciences development for the West Virginia University Foundation. Jeffrey A. Schoenherr began his new position May 1, WVU Foundation Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer Bernard J. “B.J.” Davisson announced.
This year’s recipients are: Corey Colyer, an associate professor of sociology, Eberly College of Arts and Sciences; Caleb Holloway, an assistant professor of mathematics, Leonard C. Nelson College of Engineering & Sciences, WVU Institute of Technology; and Chris McClain, assistant professor of mathematics, Nelson College, WVU Tech.
The WVU Law has been named a Top Law School by preLaw Magazine for two programs.
Laurie Jacobs, president-elect of the American Geriatrics Society and chair of the Department of Internal Medicine at Hackensack University will give the DZ Morgan Lecture at Medicine Grand Rounds. Jacobs’ talk, “Perioperative Anticoagulation for Older Adults,” will be held June 14 at 8 a.m. in the Fukushima Auditorium.
