Kaitlin Sweeney, WVU's assistant athletics director of strength and conditioning for Olympic Sports, is overseeing the new Athletics Performance Center. She is part of Mike Joseph's strength and conditioning team tasked with the vital role of developing Mountaineer student-athletes.

Twenty members of the WVU rowing team have been named to the 2022 Academic All-Big 12 Rowing First Team, as announced by the conference today. Of those, six Mountaineers earned distinction with a 4.0 grade-point average: Kaira Lay, Katherine McMullen, Lydia Nicolai, Megan Present, Emma Toy and Ryleigh Williams.
WVU football coach Neal Brown has announced that Tirek Austin-Cave, a 6-foot-1, 225-pound, sophomore linebacker from Pennsauken, New Jersey, has signed a grant-in-aid and will transfer to WVU from Miami. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Four student-athletes from the WVU rifle team wrapped up competition at the 2022 National Rifle Junior Olympic Championships over the weekend in Hillsdale, Michigan. Sophomores Becca Lamb, Molly McGhin and Matt Sanchez, along with freshman Natalie Perrin, represented WVU at the event, which was hosted by USA Shooting.
The WVU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has named Clay Bollinger as assistant athletics director for Creative/Digital Media. He will direct and oversee the content of creative video, the department's social media platforms and overall digital information strategies while working to increase West Virginia's fan engagement on a national level. Also, he will manage West Virginia's multiple official websites and deliver entertaining content across all platforms.
Redshirt freshman Ceili McCabe and redshirt junior Hayley Jackson led the West Virginia University track and field team to nine All-Big 12 performances at the 2022 Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Championship on May 13-15 at Fuller Track and Field in Lubbock, Texas.
