Five recipients — all demonstrating strong academic achievement and commitment to scholarly or professional work to benefit the Mountain State — will continue their graduate studies with financial assistance from the Hazel Ruby McQuain Graduate Scholarship, administered by the West Virginia University Office of Graduate Education and Life in partnership with the WVU Foundation.

The new MyWVU Portal will launch in early September for undergraduate and graduate applicants seeking admission for the Spring 2026 semester and beyond at any WVU campus. Meanwhile, the launch date for the new Blackthorn event management tool has shifted to better align with this change. Starting Aug. 25, applicants will use the new tool to register for campus tours and other admissions-related events that are scheduled for Nov. 1 or later.
The West Virginia SpaceTrek Program summer camp welcomed 17 high school girls from across West Virginia to the world of aerospace engineering. Participants were guided on this stellar journey by faculty and students from the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources.

The Department of Communication Studies is recruiting participants for a study examining how people may be affected by social media. If you are an adult woman age 18 and older, you are eligible to participate in our study.
