CHESS Connections  

A free smartphone app is now available for state residents who are searching for connection while struggling with substance use disorder during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through a partnership between WVU and the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, anyone struggling with substance use can access CHESS Health’s Addiction Management Platform.

To better meet the needs of the Black-identified students they serve, BeWell — which offers behavioral wellness services at Health Sciences — welcomes John Spraggins, a Black clinician, to the team and the Carruth Center has added a virtual drop-in support group.

Virtual mindfulness  

March into Mindfulness to gain valuable skills in becoming a more integrated human while understanding how to navigate the current emotions of the pandemic with more strength and calmness. This free virtual series will take place from noon-1 p.m. March 1 and every Monday in March thereafter.

Sally Hodder  

Dr. Sally Hodder, professor of medicine, West Virginia Clinical and Translational Science Institute director, and associate vice president for clinical and translational research at WVU, has been inducted into the West Virginia Health Care Hall of Fame by West Virginia Executive Magazine.
