The School of Nursing is working to educate more nurses amid a nationwide shortage caused by changing demographics, greater demand for health care, a rise in retirements and other factors. The Bedford Falls grant will provide student scholarships and faculty support for four programs aimed at producing well-trained nurses to meet health care needs in West Virginia and beyond.

The WVU community is invited to learn about the positive effects of meditation on the mind and body during a four-part series beginning at noon today (May 16) and continuing monthly through August.
The WVU community is invited to participate in the presentation portion to meet the candidate, Dr. Stephen Wisniewski, in person or via Zoom. The presentation is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday (May 16) at Health Sciences Center-North, IPE Room 2940B.
The School of Nursing has established a partnership with the Arellano University-International Nursing Program to continue providing and enhancing nursing education within the Mountain State’s borders and abroad.
Hosted by the WVU Health Sciences Office of Interprofessional Education, this interactive event aims to deepen the understanding of and help improve approaches to serving individuals facing poverty and homelessness from 8:30 a.m. to noon Monday, May 20, at the Health Sciences Center.
Growing up in a wheelchair, Dr. Jesse Lawrence learned how doctors can positively affect experiences for patients. Set to graduate from the School of Medicine Department of Neurosurgery’s residency program this spring, he hopes to instill the same calmness and confidence in his patients.
