To minimize the risk of compatibility issues, employees and students who use personally owned Apple computers for work or study should avoid installing the newest operating system, macOS Sequoia. Additionally, the upgrade to macOS Sequoia will be delayed for all WVU-owned computers and users should not attempt to update those machines.

First Ascent, a program designed to cultivate and retain local talent within West Virginia by supporting new graduates from West Virginia University and Marshall University, is seeing success one year after its launch.
Between January 2025 and July 1, 2026, all WVU employees on all campuses will be transitioning from an existing telecommunications system that is becoming cost-prohibitive to a next-generation, cloud-based platform that will better serve the University’s blended work force, Zoom Phone.
Late alumna Lois Ackard Jamison’s planned gift of more than $200,000 is expanding scholarship opportunities for students who show academic promise.
Some short-term parking lots on the Evansdale area of campus will be closed to accommodate prospective employers attending the two-day STEM Career and Internship Fair Wednesday (Sept. 18) and Thursday (Sept. 19).
The WVU community is encouraged to review the proposed sustainability goals and participate in the anonymous survey to provide feedback which will be used to identify opportunities for changes and improvements before finalizing the goals.
