Michelle Richmond arrived at WVU with a lofty goal: to improve the human condition for all West Virginians. Eventually, that led her to social work. This year as she completes a bachelor’s of social work, Richmond is working with Legal Aid of West Virginia on its strategic plan to improve statewide community access to legal services.

Jonathan Hall  

In the sixth installment of Seedy Talks, Jonathan Hall, assistant professor of geography at WVU, will discuss how institutional and environmental racism and dispossession of Black people’s land affects the hunting landscape in the U.S. April 6 at 2 p.m.

Reynolds Hall construction  

Reynolds Hall, the future home of WVU’s John Chambers College of Business and Economics, will propel students to the forefront of business education thanks to a multimillion-dollar gift from alumni W. Marston “Marty” and Katharine Becker that will bolster building construction, ensure academic success for students and help attract and retain top-notch faculty.

Xueyan Song  

Xueyan Song, professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering in WVU’s Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources, has been named the George B. Berry Chair of Engineering, effective Jan. 1.
