Putting a focus on homegrown talent, the University will welcome students to campus with FallFest featuring headliner Sierra Ferrell — a Mountain State singer-songwriter and roots musician — Monday (Aug. 18) at the Rec Center Fields on the Evansdale area of campus.

A collection of new WVU initiatives, partnerships and redesigned academic pathways are answering a nationwide teacher shortage — felt deeply in the Mountain State’s hills and hollows — by meeting potential teachers where they are and creating a sustainable path toward the education field.
Approximately 30 administrative and academic units have successfully transitioned from Cisco hardware to Zoom Phone since January, along with the Beckley and Keyser campuses, and Jackson’s Mill. Units that still need to transition can expect to receive a 30-day notice before their scheduled migration.
The “Art, Healing and Friendship: Remembering Dr. Arthur I. Jacknowitz” exhibit will celebrate the beloved pharmacy professor through May 2026. A reception and unveiling is scheduled from 4-6 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Health Sciences Center Pylons.
The University community is invited to stop by an open house event to meet the Office of Graduate Education and Life team and learn about available resources while enjoying light refreshments from 1-4:30 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 19) in Stewart Hall, B20 Suite.
