West Virginia University has learned it will receive sufficient supply of COVID-19 vaccine doses in the coming weeks from the Higher Education Policy Commission and the West Virginia Joint Interagency Task Force to vaccinate all faculty and staff aged 49 and younger who expressed interest in receiving a vaccine. To expedite the vaccination process, WVU has partnered with WVU Medicine to administer vaccinations for this employee population group. Vaccinations for faculty and staff aged 40 to 49 will take place next Thursday, March 25, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Greater Monongalia County COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic, which is located at the former Sears site at the Morgantown Mall (view directions). Both first and second doses will be administered at the Greater Monongalia County COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic. Employees aged 40 to 49 who expressed interest in receiving a vaccine through a questionnaire distributed by the University should have received scheduling instructions yesterday (March 18) afternoon via their WVU email. Faculty and staff aged 39 and younger who expressed interest via a WVU questionnaire in receiving a vaccine will be vaccinated in late March or early April at the Greater Monongalia County COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic. Employees aged 39 and younger should monitor their WVU email for additional information and scheduling instructions.
