The Center for Service and Learning’s annual Excellence in Community Engagement awards honor extraordinary accomplishments in engaged learning and community impact. The recognition criteria are founded upon demonstration of the Mountaineer Core Values of Service, Curiosity, Respect, Accountability and Appreciation.

Nathan Bennett '20 and Sarah Petitto '20 were recipients of a scholarship from the West Virginia State Bar Association that encouraged them to hang their shingle in rural communities.
David Hunt Wilks passed away April 14, following a lengthy illness. Wilks was an associate professor at WVU's School of Medicine and former assistant dean for technology in medical education and medical director of the David and Jo Ann Shaw Center for Simulation Training and Education for Patient Safety.
