The WV-INBRE program will provide funding for a maximum of five nine-week biomedical science research internship positions for high school science educators. Internships run from May 31 through July 29. Based on the high school’s academic calendar, start dates are flexible; however, employment dates end July 29.

The Appalachian Gerontology Experiences: Advancing Diversity in Aging Research Scholars Program reminds faculty and students that the application deadline for the 2022 AGE-ADAR Summer Research Program is Saturday (Jan. 15).

Peter Stoilov and Visvanathan Ramamurthy—researchers at the WVU School of Medicine—have spent the last several years collaborating to study proteins called Musashi, the loss of which causes rapid retinal degeneration. Their project recently received its fifth year of funding—$502,444—from the National Eye Institute, a division of the National Institutes of Health.
