Housed in WVU’s School of Public Health, the new Master of Science in Population Health program—one of only seven of its kind being offered by a CEPH-accredited school —is designed to prepare graduates for occupations in this field, which are projected to grow by nearly 20% across the country over the next 10 years, placing this emerging field of study in high student demand.

An alumnus who wishes to remain anonymous will match all gifts up to $100,000 – for a total of $200,000 – to support the William M. Jarrett Endowment for Student Research through Dec. 31. The endowment supports research activities by pre- and post-doctoral dental students at WVU.
WVU Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Shane Lyons and Director of the Carruth Center for Psychological and Psychiatric Services T. Anne Hawkins announced the return of alumni Adrian Ferrera as the director of clinical and sport psychology and Sofía España Pérez as the clinical and sports behavioral health therapist for the athletics department.
Bobby Bowden, one of college football's all-time great coaches, died Sunday morning in his Tallahassee, Florida, residence. The Birmingham, Alabama, native spent 10 total seasons at West Virginia, including his stint as Jim Carlen's offensive coordinator from 1966-69.
Saturday's late-morning practice also included about 1,500 fans inside Milan Puskar Stadium as part of Fan Day. Players and coaches visited with Mountaineer fans up on the west concourse of the stadium to sign autographs and take pictures. Afterward, fans were invited to stick around and watch the team practice in shorts and helmets.
The West Virginia University volleyball team added a match at Howard University on Friday, Nov. 12, in Washington, D.C. First serve is set for 6 p.m. inside Burr Gymnasium.
