Faculty, staff and students are invited to join the WVU Center for Community Engagement for a weekend of service at the Freedom Festival at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in Glen Jean, Sept. 10-12. Lodging, food and t-shirts will be provided for volunteers.
WVU Libraries will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy with “September 11, 2001: The Day that Changed the World,” an exhibit at the Evansdale Library that presents the history of 9/11 and its ongoing implications through the personal stories of those who witnessed and survived the attacks. The poster exhibition, which will remain on display through the fall semester, was developed by the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.
The Country Roads Program, first launched last year virtually, welcomed their first class to campus life. As the students moved into their dorm rooms and participated in Welcome Week activities their joy and determination helped them to break down barriers and find new ways to live on their own.
