As the stadium returns to normal operations, including pregame tailgating and the complete game-day experience, WVU strongly encourages all fans to be vaccinated. All fans should self-evaluate prior to game day or before arriving at the stadium. Fans who might be sick or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should stay home and contact a physician. Gates open at 3:30 p.m.; kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
New and seasoned faculty and staff are welcome to join the Annual New Women’s Welcome Meet-Up Sept. 9 from 5-7 p.m. Held virtually this year, participants will gather in a large group or in smaller breakout room chats to meet the newest members of the WVU family and catch up with old friends and colleagues.
This year’s anniversary on campus will include an opening ceremony with President Gee at 11:30 a.m. on Friday (Sept. 10), followed by a 24-hour vigil near Wise Library. Events also include activities tied to the National Day of Service and Remembrance, organized by the WVU Center for Community Engagement, and the “September 11, 2001: The Day That Changed the World” exhibition, hosted by the WVU Libraries.
WVU employees and students are invited to join the WVU Collegiate Recovery Program for a Sober Tailgate from 2-5 p.m. on Sept. 11 at the Suncrest United Methodist Church, 479 Van Voorhis Road.
The first Yappy Hour is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Mountainlair across from Which Which. Dogs from Hearts of Gold, along with counselors, will be available to interact with students, faculty and staff.
