Beyond Bars  

A two-year grant-funded project in the WVU Reed College of Media explores the causes and effects of the high incarceration rate of women in West Virginia. Read more about the work journalism and public relations students completed during this initiative in the College's digital magazine.

Community Music Program  

After two years of online education and virtual recitals, the WVU Community Music Program is beyond grateful to have been able to resume in-person activities and use the power of music to bring the members of our community together again. Registration begins today (Jan. 10) for private instruction (in-person or virtual) on a variety of instruments, such as piano, guitar, strings, woodwinds, brass, harp, percussion, bluegrass fiddle, mandolin, banjo, hammered dulcimer, voice, songwriting and improvisation.

Natalie Perrin  

Sports and Adventure Media major Natalie Perrin hopes to one day represent the United States at the Olympics. As the only freshman on the WVU rifle team and with a pair of Junior Olympic gold medals under her belt, she’s well on her way to accomplishing that goal. Levi Messer and Christy Bragg  

Christy Bragg came to WVU Tech as a nontraditional student. The Cowen, West Virginia native spent 17 years in the healthcare industry as a positron emission tomography-computed tomography technologist before deciding to go back to school in 2010.

youth soccer  

An introductory soccer program has provided real life training for 10 CPASS coaching and performance sciences students. Raymond Kryzak, director, Mountaineer United Soccer Club, organized and led sessions for the Fundamentals soccer program, an eight-week introductory soccer clinic designed for three- and four-year-old children.
