The WVU Medicine Aspiring Nurse Program provides direct financial assistance to second-degree students seeking their bachelor’s degree from the School of Nursing in return for a three-year work commitment at a hospital in the WVU Health System.

The program is designed to prepare residents with in-depth knowledge and skills for all aspects of pediatric dentistry practice in both private and hospital settings, and to encourage lifelong learning to contribute to the advancement of the profession.
Gov. Jim Justice has named Elizabeth Scharman, retired pharmacy professor and former executive director of the West Virginia Poison Center, a Distinguished Mountaineer in recognition of her contributions made to toxicology education and poison prevention throughout the state for the last 32 years.
