Beginning this fall, WVU School of Dentistry department chair and faculty member Dr. Arif Salman will have a seat on an American Dental Association board that provides continuing education input for providers.

The Community Health & Wellness 5k, sponsored by Health Sciences & Technology Academy, will take place Sunday (April 24) at 2 p.m. at the WVU Rec Center. There will also be an opportunity to participate in a community 2-mile walk and a Kids Fun Run.

Ten years after learning about multiple sclerosis as a student in the WVU School of Medicine, Dr. James Bardes was diagnosed with the unpredictable disease. Now, the WVU faculty member and physician is leading efforts in West Virginia and across the nation to create a world free of multiple sclerosis.

Graduate students in the WVU School of Nursing’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program will benefit from a new scholarship established by alumna and longtime dean E. Jane Martin to be awarded to nurse practitioners pursuing a post-master’s certificate in psychiatric mental health.
