The WVU HSC Faculty Development Program will accept nominations for the Academy of Excellence in Teaching & Learning through Sept. 14. Objectives are to promote excellence in education and to bring together distinguished teachers to expand mentorship, innovations and scholarship.

Brittany Moleta, a WVU School of Dentistry student, was selected as one of the three winners of Colgate’s Power of a Smile Scholarship Award among several dental student applicants from across the United States who shared impressive case studies for the contest.
Lorita D. Jenab, who was appointed dean of the WVU School of Nursing in 1968 and served in the role for 24 years, passed away June 12. Under her leadership, the number of graduates in the baccalaureate nursing program increased five-fold. She also implemented the Master of Science in Nursing program in 1975 and she extended the program to other campus locations.
The WVU Obstetrics and Gynecology ACE Program will hold a Diapers and Wipes Drive from June 20 to July 1. Donations will be accepted on campus or through our Amazon Gift Registry.
To help introduce incoming ninth graders to the profession of nursing, the WVU School of Nursing Keyser Campus will host a Nursing Academy for Mineral County students. Offered in collaboration with WVU Potomac State College and WVU Medicine Potomac Valley Hospital, the free academy will be held Aug. 1-3 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day at the School of Nursing Keyser Campus.
Meghan Bastin, a pediatric dentist, has joined the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at West Virginia University’s School of Dentistry as an assistant professor.
