Sponsored by the WVU School of Medicine Global Health Program and Health Sciences Global Engagement Office, Global Health Week from Sept. 19-23 will feature speakers from across the United States. This year’s topics include the COVID-19 pandemic response and vaccine equity, landmine eradication, global critical care and international aid.
This week's Walk with a Future Doc session will feature a presentation from Cathy Shaw on low-cost nutritious foods at 10 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 17) at mile marker 6.7 on the Mon River Rail-Trail near Terra Cafe. Participants can also join the walk remotely on Zoom.
Marian Reven, an assistant professor in the Adult Health Department of the WVU School of Nursing, will share a presentation at Phyt’arom later this month, the International Congress on Applied Aromatherapy and Phytotherapy.
All faculty are invited to attend the WVU Health Sciences Center Faculty Development Program presentation “Manuscript Writing” from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sep. 21. The presenter is Jennifer Mallow, associate professor in the School of Nursing.
Using the knowledge and skills she gained from the WVU School of Nursing’s Faith Community Nursing course, a local registered nurse is developing a community outreach program offering health education, screenings and supportive programs.
