The Pathways to Academic Student Success for biology majors project aims to recruit and retain West Virginia students for Potomac State College’s two-year biology program, as well as help interested project participants transfer to the four-year biology program on the Morgantown campus.
The WVU Department of English and MFA program will host WVU Press authors Tom Bredehoft and Natalie Sypolt for a reading and book signing at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, in the Betty Boyd Lounge of Elizabeth Moore Hall.
The Chinese Studies program at WVU and the West Virginia Department of Education will host STARTALK, a federal grant program managed by the National Security Agency to promote critical language learning among ninth through 11th-grade students. Students will learn the Chinese language and culture through activities related to science, technology, engineering, arts and math. Mandarin language knowledge is not required.
Chris Stirewalt, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and former political editor at Fox News, will be interviewed by Hoppy Kercheval of WV MetroNews at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 14 in the WVU Mountainlair Ballrooms.
