Yamile Gonzalez, from Guadalajara, Mexico, made history as she became the first graduate student to successfully complete a sport management master’s thesis at WVU. Gonzalez’s master thesis “Gender Imbalance in Sport Leadership in Latin America” examines gender disparity at the leadership level within sport organizations across Latin America.

Bernard Schreurs, a researcher with the WVU School of Medicine and Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, is studying the mechanisms behind Alzheimer’s disease and PTSD. Coach Neal Brown has announced that Rashad Ajayi, a fifth-year senior cornerback from Atlanta, Georgia, signed a grant-in-aid and will transfer to WVU from Colorado State. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
