Donations will be accepted starting today (May 2) for WVU’s annual Blue and Gold Mine Sale. The sale is a long-time partnership of WVU and the United Way to provide a second life to donated goods in a yard-sale like event while raising money for the local United Way.

As part of efforts to ensure we are operating as efficiently as possible, WVU Shared Services is reducing hours of operation for live phone support. Effective Monday, May 16, Customer Care agents will be available to assist faculty and staff via phone Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Two individuals will begin work today (May 2) in the Division of Student Life’s Center for Fraternal Values and Leadership and Project 168. Akeya Carter-Bozman has been named assistant director of the Center for Fraternal Values and Leadership and Anna Riddle, who will serve as Project 168’s senior program coordinator, is the first full-time employee hired to support Project 168 initiatives.
The WVU community is invited to attend “A New Standard,” a fashion show presented by fashion, dress and merchandising students in the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design. The show will take place May 12 at 7 p.m. at the WVU Art Museum; doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Nationally-renowned healthcare leader, Thomas C. Dolan, will speak to graduates at the WVU School of Public Health commencement ceremony held Friday, May 13, at 4 p.m. in the Canady Creative Arts Center.
As part of the WVU School of Nursing’s Judy C. Kandzari Memorial Lectureship, Lisa Kirk Wiese presented “Creating a Culture of Caring for Older Adults in Rural Settings” in the WVU Health Sciences’ Okey Patteson Auditorium April 28. Student awardees were also recognized, along with new inductees of the Sigma Theta Tau — Alpha Rho Chapter.
