Researchers with the WVU School of Medicine are studying how a benign virus can make new treatments for eye diseases possible. They’re exploring how to use engineered adeno-associated virus, or AAV, to compensate for missing protein or swap out genetic mutations that cause vision problems and replace them with DNA that works as it should.

Zach Frazier  

WVU sophomore center Zach Frazier has been named to the 2021 AFCA FBS Coaches' All-America Second Team. This honor is Frazier's second All-America accolade after being named to the Walter Camp Football Foundation All-America Second Team on Dec. 9.

Through the fall 2021 semester, a total of $748,062 in scholarship support has been awarded to 730 WVU students in need via “We Are Stronger Together,” a special fundraising initiative launched by the WVU Foundation. Contributions to the ongoing effort assist WVU students affected by the pandemic with tuition, room and board, and other educational expenses.
