The classes are offered through the School of Medicine’s Human Performance Lab, and pair exercise physiology and physical therapy students and faculty with clients to improve client physical health and well-being.
Tucker the therapy dog recently visited the Bridgeport Campus to help students alleviate stress prior to finals. During the students’ lunch break, Tucker offered tail wags, opportunities for pets and even hugs.
The latest addition to the David and Jo Ann Shaw Center for Simulation Training and Education for Patient Safety is named HAL, a cutting-edge advanced interdisciplinary patient simulator.
The Center is among 16 organizations receiving a Health Equity Innovation Fund award, which will be used to launch a project titled “Dismantling Structural Racism in Entrepreneurship: Supporting the Minority Nurse’s Path to Business Ownership.”
Two faculty members — Roger Carpenter and Becky Smeltzer — represented the School of Nursing during the recent event at Stonewall Resort. The one-day conference was aimed at connecting nursing leaders and aspiring leaders across the state to share ideas about leadership, mentoring and other current topics.
