WVU Health Sciences will recognize 10 individuals and one team with Chancellor’s Awards and four individuals with Women in Science and Health Awards for their significant contributions to its mission at 4 p.m. tomorrow (Sept. 19) at the Health Sciences Center Pylons.

Brian Hendricks and Dovenia Ponnoth from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine will present "Cultivating Innovation — West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine’s Expanding Research Horizons in Rural Health and Community Engagement” at 11 a.m. Sept. 25 in the Health Sciences Center, Room 7608.
A $100,000 scholarship gift from Drs. William and Polley Cunningham is expanding research opportunities for Mountain State medical students with first preference given to students participating in the Initiation to Research Opportunities program.
Hannah Gowarty will expand her knowledge base in the area of caregiving, which she says is an especially important area of concern for residents and providers in West Virginia, as a 2024-25 scholar.
The WVU community is invited to engage in self-exploration, learn new perspectives and engage with others at the Health Sciences Center during the Week of Purpose slated for Sept. 23-27.
Guest speakers will discuss suicide warning signs and how to help during an educational session from 6-8 p.m Wednesday (Sept. 18) on Zoom. The session is open to the public.
