Veterans Day Concert  

The “Fall Concert: Veterans Day” promises to be a delightful program that weaves together history, romance and patriotism in celebration of those who have devoted their lives to their country. The free concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Canady Creative Arts Center.

Sara Druffner and Katie Lee  

The Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Cell Biology has announced Sara Druffner and Katie Lee as recipients of the 2023 Gossling Scholarship. Druffner is a fourth-year doctoral candidate studying gastric inflammation and carcinogenesis in the Busada Lab. Lee is starting her fourth year of research on innovative vaccines and therapeutic strategies for infectious diseases in the Heath Damron Lab.

Faculty, staff and students are invited to learn more about the Appalachian Gerontology Experiences: Advancing Diversity in Aging Research Scholars Program from 5-6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, on Zoom.

Jay Jacobs  

Jay Jacobs, who has been analyzing Mountaineer basketball games for nearly 50 years, has announced his retirement from the Mountaineer Sports Network. Jacobs, 85, will be part of one final men's basketball broadcast when the Mountaineers host St. John's on Friday, Dec. 1, and will be recognized on the Coliseum floor.
