Braden Adkins Mountaineer  

Fulfilling his passion to serve West Virginia University and his home state, Braden Adkins will don the buckskins and carry the rifle as the next Mountaineer mascot. Adkins, a junior economics major from Richwood, was named the 2024-25 Mountaineer mascot Saturday (March 2) during the men’s basketball game at the WVU Coliseum.

Faculty, staff and students should plan to use alternative transportation during spring break, March 9-17, including Mountain Line buses that are free to ride with a valid WVU ID. University community members can also store their vehicle in the upper level of the Mountainlair parking garage or at Mountaineer Station for $10.

Whether you are staying close to home or traveling abroad, it is important to plan ahead to ensure a safe and healthy spring break experience. Student Health Services can provide specific health recommendations, preventive medications and on-site vaccinations.

Faculty, staff and students on all campuses will be unable to log into many important services that require WVU Login credentials from 7 a.m. to noon Sunday (March 10) during quarterly security patching to the single sign-on system.

The WVU Organic Farm is selling shares for its Community Supported Agriculture Program, offering a great opportunity to incorporate more veggies into your diet while supporting hands-on education at the farm.

Pi Day  

The Physics and Astronomy Graduate Student Organization will host “Pie-A-Professor” in celebration of Pi Day from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Wednesday (March 6) in Woodburn Circle to benefit graduate student activities in the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
