Join the School of Public Health for a series of events focused on collaboration and community engagement beginning Monday (April 1). This year’s American Public Health Association campaign is titled, “Protecting, Connecting and Thriving: We Are All Public Health.”

The program, which is the only one of its kind in the northern part of West Virginia, earned provisional accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care and will enroll a cohort of 16 students this fall.
Thirteen health care educators and practitioners from across the region recently participated in the Simulation Certificate Program, a three-day curriculum designed for individuals with an interest in quality teaching with simulation.
Led by Dr. Andrea Labus, the first-of-its-kind Healthcare is Human course will be open to fourth-year medical students this fall and will focus on teaching the fundamental skills of narrative medicine through a unique educational model rooted in Appalachian art, culture and values.
WVU graduating medical students have been placed in 24 states and Washington for their residency placements, while West Virginia retained 48% of the class. The placement announcements were made as part of the University’s Match Day celebration.
The Gamma Mu Chapter of Delta Omega Public Health Honor Society will host its annual poster competition at 1 p.m. Friday (March 22) in the Health Sciences Center, Room G119A.
