Faculty from all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply for the JHU-WVU Research Collaborative. As announced in June, the collaborative is a joint internal funding program established by Johns Hopkins University and WVU.
Applications must be submitted through the JHU InfoReady system by 11:59 p.m. Sept. 30.
The program aims to support bold, interdisciplinary projects by providing seed funding to help faculty teams develop innovative research programs, generate preliminary data, and position themselves for competitive external funding while fostering long-term partnerships between the two institutions.
Each proposal must have two lead principal investigators, which includes one from JHU and one from WVU.
Note that the WVU principal investigator and their research team must work with the Office of Sponsored Programs to submit the WVU proposal components through the WVU Research Administration Portal for institutional review and approval prior to submission to the JHU PI and no later than Sept. 22 (for the Fall 2026 cycle).
Once approved, the JHU principal investigator may submit the complete application through the JHU InfoReady system by the program deadline.
Proposals will undergo a competitive review process, with priority given to projects that demonstrate innovative science or scholarship, strong institutional collaboration, a credible pathway toward future external funding, and the potential to establish sustained research partnerships between JHU and WVU.
Awards are intended to catalyze new collaborations that leverage the complementary strengths of both institutions and address important scientific, engineering, health, and societal challenges with the potential for meaningful scholarly, translational, or public impact.
