The University’s two-year project to move from outdated Cisco hardware to Zoom Phone is in the final stretch.
To support Health Sciences Center employees between now and July, Information Technology Services has coordinated two virtual training sessions and strongly encourages participation.
The sessions will be held at 10 a.m. April 15 and May 20.
Training will provide a Zoom Workplace phone system demo, including how to access and navigate the desktop application, optional mobile app set up, and personal phone settings like business hours configuration, call handling options and voicemail greeting customizations.

For questions that fall outside of these topics, review this FAQ or article about transitioning from MDTV Zoom to WVU Zoom.
WVU expects to finish the system-wide transition to Zoom Phone by July 1. Unit points of contact will receive approximately 30 days’ notice before their scheduled migration. View tentative migration dates.
Zoom Phone is a full-service, cloud-based calling solution designed to better support a large workforce with many hybrid and fully remote staff. By moving from on-premises Cisco hardware to software as a service, WVU will avoid more than $1 million in deferred maintenance costs. Telecommunications charges will remain at current rates until the transition is complete.
