Bill Casteel, a mechanic technician for the PRT, has been selected to be featured in the April Staff Council Classified Staff Showcase.
A Tunnelton native who has helped keep the PRT running for 10 years, Casteel notes that although it’s rewarding, maintaining the complex system requires a lot of hard work behind the scenes.
Beyond the mechanics, he takes pride in helping the University community and visitors navigate the Morgantown Campus safely. He especially enjoys interacting with the public and answering questions from those experiencing the PRT for the first time.
“For 50 years, the PRT has helped students, faculty and staff get to class, work, athletic events and more,” he said. “Thousands of people take the PRT each day, and I am proud to help keep everyone moving across campus.”
In his spare time, Casteel enjoys fishing and trying new restaurants.
If you see Casteel around campus, give him a shoutout.
Each month, the University will acknowledge the valuable efforts and hard work of a Classified Staff employee with the Classified Staff Showcase.
