As President Michael T. Benson marks his first Day of Giving as University president today (March 25), he is encouraging alumni and friends to amplify the impact of their gifts during the ninth annual 24-hour fundraising event.
Gifts can be made online at dayofgiving.wvu.edu.
“As West Virginia’s only R1, land-grant, flagship university, a gift of $5 or more will help us build on the daily impact our University makes across West Virginia and around the globe,” President Benson said. “So, join us in going above and beyond by making a gift today. And Let’s Go!”
The Day of Giving encompasses the entire WVU System and has raised over $142 million since 2017 to benefit student scholarships, academic programs, groundbreaking research, infrastructure improvements, health care, athletics and more.
Hourly challenges will offer exciting opportunities to secure additional funds based on participation, dollar amount raised, social media engagement and more. Participants will also be able to stay updated on challenge winners, live leaderboards and the donor wall.
