AmeriCorps VISTA seeking campus partners to expand community impact

AmeriCorp Host graphic

The AmeriCorps VISTA program is seeking faculty and affiliated programs to partner in tackling some of West Virginia’s most pressing challenges.

Members of the University community are needed to help develop, enhance and sustain engagement programs, along with strengthening and supplementing efforts to recruit, educate and graduate students in higher education.

Priority will be given to projects that address critical needs, such as addiction, rural development, food access and energy sources in rural communities and areas with concentrated poverty.

Member positions, including non-academic roles, are available in Morgantown, Beckley and Keyser. Member slots are available on a month-to-month basis and fill quickly; therefore, this is a competitive process.

Leveraging University resources to improve outcomes in the community and strengthen student success is the mission of the AmeriCorps VISTA program. We are leading the way in developing higher education as a hub for the program, which exists to build the capacity of educational institutions and nonprofit organizations to strengthen communities through service.
