Staff Council highlights LOD Reads Book Club as ‘Hidden Gem’

The book club offers faculty and staff a relaxed space to explore new ideas, talk about real workplace experiences and build community across campus.

Participants will read at their own pace, then join the group every other month for engaging discussions on the Morgantown Campus or online.

The first book is “Difficult Conversations — How to Discuss What Matters Most” by Stone, Patton and Heen. Based on almost 30 years of research, the book walks you through a step-by-step approach for how to have your toughest conversations with less stress and more success.

WVU Libraries can help you find a copy of this book. If you have questions about how to obtain a copy, contact Anna Crawford at Anna.Crawford@mail.wvu.edu or use the Ask A Librarian chat. If you’d like to keep your copy, the book is available to purchase from Amazon or various bookstores.

The LOD Reads Book Club isn’t about adding more to your to-do list, it’s about creating space for connection and reflection. Come as you are, whether you’ve read every page or just skimmed the highlights.
