Before trading in or resetting your old device, be sure to add your Okta Verify account to your new phone. Taking this step will support your continuous and uninterrupted access to WVU systems and services.
ITS strongly recommends all employees and students enroll a secondary device like a tablet, spare phone or hardware token as a backup to their Okta account to support these kinds of transitions.
If you don’t add Okta Verify to your new phone before surrendering your old one and you don’t already have a backup device enrolled, you will need to call the ITS Service Desk at 304-293-4444 to regain access.
Please note that the ITS Service Desk will be closed when the University is closed. If you get locked out during this time, assistance won't be immediately available.
Review these directions in the IT Help Center for transferring your Okta Verify Account to a new phone.
When the Service Desk is closed, you can always look up answers to IT questions and check for outages at it.wvu.edu/help.
You may also leave a voicemail at 304-293-4444 or open a ticket by emailing ITSHelp@mail.wvu.edu, but these won’t be addressed until we reopen.
