Christina Torgerson, a campus service supervisor with Facilities Management Evansdale Operations, has been selected to be featured for the December Staff Council Classified Staff Showcase.
A Morgantown native, Torgerson leads a team dedicated to ensuring six buildings provide a clean, safe and welcoming space for the University community and visitors.
The buildings include Marina Tower, One Waterfront Place, Applied Human Sciences, South Agricultural Sciences, Advanced Engineering Research, and the National Research Center for Coal and Energy.
“As a supervisor, I work to ensure WVU stays clean and operates smoothly, providing a pleasant environment for students, staff and visitors,” she said. “The amount of coordinating and planning that goes on behind the scenes to make sure everything is done on time often surprises people, and my team is the heart of what we do. I’m proud to stand behind them.”
Torgerson also credits her positive work experience to the leadership at Facilities Management.
“Having such an outstanding director and management team has made my journey with WVU not only a career, but a truly rewarding experience. I am proud to be a part of the efforts to keep campus looking good every day,” she said.
To maintain a good balance in life, Torgerson noted that outside of work she trades her supervisory duties for pickleball and puzzles. She also enjoys visiting new places and hopes to travel the world one day.
Each month, the University will acknowledge the valuable efforts and hard work of a Classified Staff employee with the Classified Staff Showcase.
