Installation to begin for Woodburn Hall holiday lighting

Woodburn Hall building

Work to light the iconic Woodburn Hall for the holiday season — the return of a beloved campus tradition after more than a decade — will start Friday (Nov. 14) and continue through Nov. 29.

To support the installation, equipment and material deliveries are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Friday (Nov. 14) in the parking lot behind Martin Hall, Lot 2. Flagging crews will be on site to direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around the area.

During the installation period, construction fencing will be placed around the front of Woodburn Circle to facilitate setup.

The ADA-accessible ramps on either side of Woodburn Hall will remain open for access to all pedestrians. However, the front entrance to Woodburn Hall will be closed and locked for the duration of the construction period. All pedestrians are asked to use the side and rear entrances to enter and exit the building.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation.

President Michael T. Benson announced plans to relight Woodburn Hall during his Oct. 13 State of the University address.

Details about the Dec. 2 community holiday celebration — when Woodburn Hall will be officially lit — are scheduled to be announced during the week of Nov. 17.
