Now entering its third year, IgniteWV continues to power innovation and entrepreneurship across the Mountain State.

The 2026 competition invites West Virginians with bold ideas or growing ventures to compete for up to $100,000 in no-dilution cash prizes, along with mentorship and training designed to help transform ideas into real-world impact.

Open to anyone 18 years or older with a new idea or existing pre-revenue business that will be registered in West Virginia, IgniteWV offers entrepreneurs the opportunity to launch, expand and connect with a statewide network of mentors and resources.

Those interested should submit a 90-second YouTube video by noon Jan. 21.

Semifinalists will be announced Feb. 4.

The final competition will be held April 29.

“Each year, we see more West Virginians stepping forward with innovative ideas and a passion for making a difference,” said Tara St. Clair, program director for the Encova Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the John Chambers College of Business and Economics.

“IgniteWV is about giving those entrepreneurs the tools and visibility they need to grow and create lasting impact across the state.”
