Office of Student Accommodations summer semester reminders provided

Accessibility Services

The Office of Student Accommodations is reminding faculty that detailed guidance regarding the implementation of individual accommodations has been moved to a supplementary guidance document that accompanies every accommodation authorization letter.

This change helps to streamline the letter process by keeping letters short, while still providing accommodation-specific guidance to students and faculty as they prepare for classroom implementation.

Course coordinators who need to receive copies of accommodation authorization letters — and the guidance document — may opt-in by assigning themselves to 1% or higher faculty designation in Banner.

Keep in mind that doing so will mean that the coordinator is listed as an instructor of the course and will receive course SEIs. Coordinators who wish to forgo this can remain at 0%. They will not receive the electronic letter directly, but they may request that the primary instructor forward them a copy of the electronic accommodation letter if they wish to remain apprised.
