Commuter Student Programs is proud to announce Katlyn Hoy, a freshman majoring in animal and nutritional sciences, as the 2024–25 Commuter Student of the Year.
Hoy was selected from more than 200 nominations submitted during Commuter Appreciation Week.
In recognition of her dedication and involvement as a commuter student, she has been awarded a one-year on-campus parking permit — sponsored by Campus and Community Life and Commuter Programs.
“I’m so grateful to be chosen as the Commuter Student of the Year and this parking permit will be extremely beneficial during the 2025–26 academic year,” Hoy said. “Finding parking on campus can be very difficult and knowing I already have a parking space will alleviate some of the stress.
“It’s also a huge financial help. I drive an hour to campus five days a week and pay for at least two hours of parking each day,” she added.
Commuter Student Programs thanks all students who submitted nominations and extends appreciation to the entire commuter student community at WVU.
