Bentley Kinzer, an exercise physiology major, has been selected as a 2025 Leadership Fellow by the National Veterans Leadership Foundation.
He is also an aspiring dentist and dependent of an Army service member who serves as a work-study student in the Center for Veteran, Military and Family Programs.
The prestigious honor recognizes top military-connected students for their service, leadership potential and dedication to making a positive impact on their campuses and communities. Awardees include veterans, active-duty service members, reservists, National Guard members, ROTC cadets, spouses and dependents.
Chosen from among a select group of students from colleges and universities nationwide to serve as a fellow, Kinzer will engage in leadership development initiatives and continue his commitment to service.
Zinzer will also work alongside four Military Community Advocates to improve the military-connected student experience at WVU. Students recognized as 2025-26 Military Community Advocates include Navy dependent Mallory Hobbs, Army veteran Jerry Price, Air Force service member Andrew Stover and Marine veteran Jacob Yost.
“NVLF Fellows have a deep commitment to service and are dedicated to improving the higher education experience for military-connected students on their campuses,” said James Miller, NVLF president and founder. “It is an honor to welcome Bentley as a Leadership Fellow and to support their continued impact at West Virginia University.”
The National Veterans Leadership Foundation partners with more than 75 colleges and universities nationwide to enhance the higher education experience for military-connected students.
Dedicated to improving transition, the Foundation helps equip students to excel academically and professionally by strengthening veteran support offices, fostering leadership opportunities and creating campus-to-career resources. Through its innovative programs and comprehensive support, NVLF aims to advance academic success, career readiness and a strong sense of belonging for students.
