WVU Impact Awards launch to recognize extraordinary employees

Impact Awards

The Division of Talent and Culture is announcing the WVU Impact Awards, a new system-wide recognition program designed to honor the extraordinary contributions made by our dedicated faculty and staff.

As part of the University’s commitment to recognizing our employees through a variety of programs — including the retired Values Coin program — the WVU Impact Awards will shine a spotlight on employees across the WVU System whose commitment to excellence has made a lasting impact on the University.

Each year, leaders across the University will recognize employees or groups of employees with medallions designed and produced by Bear Wood Company. The medallions, adorned with a Flying WV and the state of West Virginia and encircled by the University’s five core values, symbolize the recipients’ outstanding contributions to our University and our state.

At the end of each calendar year, a committee will choose seven to 10 of the most outstanding WVU Impact Award recipients to receive the Outstanding Mountaineer Award, an end-of-year award that recognizes WVU Impact Award recipients who have especially gone above and beyond.

The Outstanding Mountaineer Award recipients will be announced at an end-of-year gathering where we will honor all WVU Impact Award recipients annually.

This program provides a chance for our University to recognize the incredible work being done across our campus every day. Whether in the classroom, behind the scenes or in support of our campus community, your efforts as a WVU employee make a true difference, and we want to celebrate all that our employees do.
