As we step into the new year, it is the perfect time to focus on yourself and your well-being.
Wellness is a critical part of your success both at work and in your personal life, and the WVU Benefits Strategy team wants to remind you of the valuable wellness resources available to you as an employee of WVU.
Whether you’re looking to improve your physical health or your mental health, the University has a wide variety of programs and tools to support you throughout the year.
The following list highlights a few of the many resources available through your employment:
PEIA Wellness — Do you have health insurance through WVU? As a PEIA policyholder, you have access to health programs that focus on weight management, diabetes and more.
Faculty and Staff Assistance Program — This is a free service available to you and your dependents, which provides a confidential and safe environment to discuss issues and receive resource recommendations.
Perk’s membership — Through a free Perk’s membership, you have access to Active & Fit promotions and discounts on gym memberships. A wide variety of gyms are included nationwide, but a few Morgantown locations to note are Planet Fitness, Anytime Fitness and the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park.
Campus Recreation membership — A Campus Rec membership gives you access to both the Student Recreation Center and the Downtown Fitness Center. Group classes, child care services and the aquatic center are also included.
WVU Medicine Wellness — Through a partnership with WVU Medicine, faculty and staff have access to free programs on various topics including nutrition and mindfulness. In-person and virtual classes are also available.
We encourage you to explore these great resources and wish you a happy and healthy year ahead.
