The Facilities Management team reminds the campus community to take steps to protect their offices and residences before winter break.
Before leaving campus:
Ensure all HVAC vents are unblocked and that personal items are not placed on or leaning against a heating unit.
Do not turn off HVAC heating equipment. It should remain on for cold weather protection during the break.
Lock and secure all doors and windows.
Unplug coffee makers, space heaters and other unnecessary appliances. Refrigerators should remain plugged in and turned on.
Turn off all lights.
The WVU Facilities Maintenance team may enter your offices and rooms during the winter break to complete general maintenance and filter changes.
