WVU employees on all campuses, including the Health Sciences Center, must complete cybersecurity awareness training offered by Information Technology Services and Infosec IQ by midnight Saturday, Nov. 30.
If you do not complete this training before Dec. 1, you will be considered non-compliant with WVU policy and will be required to change your Login password every 45 days rather than once a year, beginning in January 2025.
This new annual requirement was announced Oct. 2, and automated weekly reminders from Infosec IQ Notifications — notifications@notify.wvu.edu — have been going to those who have yet to complete the course.
Only 38% of employees had finished the training as of Nov. 1. Supervisors will begin receiving notices when an employee has 14 days remaining to complete training.
Anyone with an active employee role in MAP and/or active @hsc or @mail email account will be required to complete training annually, including graduate assistants and student workers with an employee role using either an @mix or @mail account, faculty and staff emeritus with an active courtesy appointment, and Shared Users — people who access both WVU and WVU Medicine systems.
All new WVU employees hired after Oct. 2 have also been enrolled in the training course and are required to complete it within 60 days of being enrolled.
To help protect the integrity of WVU systems and data and reduce the risk, the Information Security Policy requires employees on all campuses to complete this training annually.
The course takes approximately 45 minutes to complete, and all modules must be watched. If you skip educational content and only complete the assessment, you will not be considered as having completed the course.
Employees who do not have a WVU email address or log into WVU systems for their jobs, such as summer camp workers or athletic event workers, are not required to take training. If you have an employee who fits this description but received an enrollment email or for any other questions, contact the ITS Service Desk at 304-293-4444 or ITSHelp@mail.wvu.edu.
